Steel Bridge
Steel Bridge is an annual project where we design and fabricate a 1:10 scale model of a bridge. The bridge we design must be able to withstand a load of 2400 lbs and meet the rules for competition at the Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWC). Steel bridge is a great opportunity for those who enjoy a hands on experience. Every piece of the bridge is fabricated by our team in the structures lab. Upon completion of every bridge member, we practice assembling our bridge for a competitive time. At the PSWC, the Student Steel Bridge Competition is one of the two largest events. Each year, we plan to dominate the competition with the hope to reach the National Student Steel Bridge Competition. In 2014 and 2015, the Steel Bridge team made it to the national competition.
