Steel Bridge
Steel Bridge is an annual project where we design and fabricate a 1:10 scale model of a bridge. The bridge we design must be able to withstand a load of 2400 lbs and meet the rules for competition at the Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWC). Steel bridge is a great opportunity for those who enjoy a hands on experience. Every piece of the bridge is fabricated by our team in the structures lab. Upon completion of every bridge member, we practice assembling our bridge for a competitive time. At the PSWC, the Student Steel Bridge Competition is one of the two largest events. Each year, we plan to dominate the competition with the hope to reach the National Student Steel Bridge Competition. In 2014 and 2015, the Steel Bridge team made it to the national competition. With the team's hard work, they were able to get 1st place in Structural Efficiency, 1st in Aesthetics, and 2nd place in Stiffness at PSWS 2024!

Noah Hanohano
Civil Engineering, Senior [email protected] Wazza. Hey everyone, my name is Noah Hanohano, and I am this yearʻs fabrication captain for the Steel Bridge Competition. I graduated from Hawaii Baptist Academy in 2021 and am a current standing senior. When Iʻm not welding this bridge together I love to play pickleball, work out with the fellas, or vibe in the ASCE room (HH144, come say hi 😎). Civil Engineering, Senior [email protected] Hi everyone! My name is Aaryk Iwamoto and I am the Design Captain for Steel Bridge. I graduated from Hanalani Schools in 2021 and will be a Senior this upcoming year. My goals for this year are to improve on our Steel Bridge Design, optimize our Build Days to finish the fabrication in time, and to have a fun year where we can make lots of friends! My hobbies include playing sports like basketball and volleyball, hanging out with friends, and watching movies and anime. Hope to meet you all soon! |

I graduated from Damien Memorial in 2021, so Go Monarchs! When Iʻm not studying for my classes, you can probably find me working out at the Warrior Rec Center, playing volleyball or soccer, or chilling with my friends in the CEE lounge.
